Easter 2012

Easter was fun this year. Our kids our old enough to make it exciting. They had a blast coloring eggs. I think they put each egg in each color several times.

We did Easter at the Wilbur's on Saturday. Everyone was there, except for Jarrod. Sue had crafts set up for the kids to make Easter things.

We hid eggs for the kids. They had so much fun finding them all.

The kids were excited to find the eggs on Easter morning that the Easter bunny hid.

Kate gave us a little sass during the day for pictures.

After church, the Williams and the Goldthorpes came and we hid eggs for the kids. There were so many eggs that yes, Ethan had a trash sack to hold them all.

There was an egg in this bush that the girls could not find.

The kids had fun I think.

The hard part of Easter compared with Christmas is that kids understand being born but death is a little harder for them. We ask what Easter is for and Ty says for the bunny and candy. We ask what did Jesus do, and he says he died. We ask what happened then, and he says he cam alive again. Again, not sure he understands what death is so this is very abstract to him, but we read the scriptures the whole week before. Hopefully they really caught the true meaning of the holiday, although candy can be a big distraction, especially for Ty.

Funny story on candy, we told Ty that he can't eat so much candy. He was wanting it the moment he woke in the morning and about every minute until he went to bed. The other day we went to their great grandparents who offered candy to the kids. It was late morning, just before lunch, but allowed him to have some. He was shocked that he was allow to have it.

Solid Foods

Graham has had an insatiable appitite and still has not started sleeping through the night. We tried about anything we could think of. Finally, we thought we should supplement his diet with solid food. He isn't yet sleeping through the night but he is going longer than 3 hours most nights now.

Peek-a-Boo

We were cleaning up dinner and noticed that Graham was playing with his wipe and putting it over his face. I was able to play some peek-a-boo for the first time with him. We have never heard him giggle like this before. So cute.
