Tab, oh the tabs -- Firefox (and Safari) has tabs. What is a tab and why is it so great you ask? Well my friend, have you ever gotten annoyed with having a bunch of windows open and trying to juggle all of them, needing a page you have opened when you have a good 10-20 open. In Firefox and Safari both support tabs and have made my life a little
easier. Sometimes if I am doing a lot of different things on the internet, I have a bunch of tabs but if I need to surf somewhere that is unrelated with everything else I am doing, I open a new window and go on from there.Tabs can be a life saver but can also get out of hand, so tab responsibly.
Here is an example of the tabs in motion. I have my blog page open but have tabs that go to Apple and Google.


Internet Explorer 7 is supposed to have the tabbing
feature, so it will only be an advantage for Firefox and Safari for a
little bit longer.

For you poor souls

For all you poor souls who are still using Internet Explorer (which is 60% of you), the next few posts will show you the light. Now there are alternatives out there and I just thought I would let you know about them. My first choice is Mozilla Firefox followed by Safari. Both are pretty comparable with very few minor differences (and Safari is for a Mac, which is only 15%of the people who look at this blog). The casual user will probably not even care, but for anyone who uses the internet even moderately will want to look into Firefox. I originally was going to write one post to tell all the benefits but I decided to split it up to keep it from getting too big. Each of the next few posts will discuss one of the following benefits:

--Web readability

Growing Katelynn

Well she is growing, but probably only enough to be noticeable by her
parents, and is becoming so aware of her surroundings. She will track
objects and people as they move around her. She, as many babies we
hear, has a hard time in the evening. We enjoy the fun of having to
change a dirty diaper and as you get the diaper on, the diaper is
dirtied again (or even better, when she finishes going while you are
changing her). We got a swing from Jen's sister on Saturday. Katelynn
loves it and goes to sleep in a minute flat. You can't get her out of
the swing without her waking and throwing a fit. Her Umbilical cord finally completly fell of Tuesday morning. Ya, that's 4 weeks. They say 2 weeks, so whatever.
She is burping a lot better but recently hasn't been awake long enough
to burp. She has been sleeping a whole lot more the last couple days.
Monday night/Tuesday morning Katelynn went twice for 5 hours between
feedings.Then Tuesday morning, before I left for work, Jen was trying
to wake Katelynn up to feed her but Katelynn was having a hard time
waking up again. So we think (and hope) she is going through a growth
spurt.
Jen took Katelynn to JC Penny's to have some pictures taken of
Katelynn. She slept through the whole thing. We will put the pictures
up when we get them. They said 10-14 days. So we will see. All the ones
I have seen are the really low quality printed on a piece of paper.
Katelynn is a little cutie. We took some pictures of our own last
night. So here they are. Enjoy!

More pictures of our baby

I thought that I should post some pictures that Diane took yesturday. Diane dressed Katelynn up and took a bunch of pictures.



I liked this picture because Katelynn's eyes are shown so well. Of course, she is the cutest thing around, but all her little clothes help too.

If I remember correctly, this dress was Jen's as a baby. I may be totally off on that one, but I thought that is what Diane and Jen said.





As we speak, Diane is driving to Cedar City. She was a huge help and we aren't sure we will survive without her help.


We are not sure but Sunday night Katelynn had a small case of Colic. She had it for about 3 hours but had it in waves and would be calm for a few minutes in between. Last night she was fine, so hopefully Sunday was it.
My parents are coming in town on Friday and my mom will be here for a while with Jarrod. My dad will leave Monday.

Resemblance

So Greg, Jen's dad, came up this weekend for a surprise visit to see his new grand baby. He decided Thursday night that he wanted to see visit us this last weekend because it was the only weekend he was not on call while Diane was up here. So he brought up some of Jen's pictures from when she was born. What a resemblance!

So I asked my parents to send some pictures of me as a newborn so we can compare. I think she looks very much like Jen.

And because if I don't post several pictures of my new baby girl I will not hear the end of it from my parents, here are a bunch of pictures of my new baby girl.












The last two nights, Katelynn has been sleeping for a good 5 hours, which is nice. She likes to sleep on the her side and will almost always turns to her side and has her hands by her face. She loves to suck and is either sucking on her hands/fingers or the pacifier. She is a little cutie. She seems to stay awake a lot during the day, a lot more then I thought she would. Her skin was a little yellow when we left the Hospital but her legs were white, so she was in a low risk for jaudice. I think she is doing really well and is at little to no risk for jaundice. I woke up this morning and comforted Katelynn while Jen slept. After a diaper change, she slept in my lap and I loved having her there that I left her there until it was time to get ready for work.

She has a name

We finally decided on a name for our beautiful baby girl.


Her name is Katelynn Jennifer Wilbur.


We started to take her home (which took a little while to be discharged) and put her in her car seat. Those car seat bases, which the car seat can just snap into, are nice only because I can't imagine having to go through that installation into the car every single time. Pain in the rear. Here is our little Katelynn, snug in her carseat for the first time.


On our way out of the hospital. What a bright and sunshining day to bring a baby home.


Mother and baby are doing great. We survived the first night at home. Jen was up a good portion of it and is hopefully sleeping the day away right now, as we speak. I was up mostly when we were worried when she was making funny noises while breathing. I think that it was a few boogers and finger sucking that made us think she was choking or spitting up or a whole list of scary things. I went to work this morning and plan to be here till 5. As can be expected, we are way excited and are very grateful that Diane, Jen's mom, is up here to help us out. I don't know what we would have done without her help.
