Growth in the Church

So my dad found something pretty cool before me and posted it. He saw it at Stake Conference so I think this is from the Church offices but this is an unofficial copy. I feel this is a positive sort of pirating of video and should be done. In fact, it is my duty to pirate and post this video.

Doesn't this video just make you want to sing and shout for the armies of heaven. I get so excited from it. Latter-day blog posted this site and you can download it there.

Jen pointed out that it is awesome but look at how much more of the world there to fill.

Metzener

I am in the Accounting Junior Core at BYU right now for those of you who don't know. I work in an assigned group that I do several group assignments with. We were reassigned groups at the new semester and one guy in my group is Ben Stay. He is in a band named "Metzener" and I think that is pretty cool.

What I think is way cooler is that he has his own website, shirts, and an album released. It may be because I am lame and don't know cool people in bands with shirts. So I thought I would show the website. Ben is the drummer and the second from the right on the picture below. I thought that this picture was pretty snazzy.

I thought I would be somewhat, semi-cool like Brigham and post some band stuff. I will not be able to make it to his concert on Saturday and so I can't make a review like Brigham. I thought I would attempt at being cool like Brigham and post some pictures of my friends band. So here it is.

When I saw this picture I thought, "This is how I see Ben everyday, just a side of his face." Not really but I thought it was funny.

Exciting News

There was some exciting news from Hawaii. This is a picture of Josh with his girlfriend, Hayley, in California, I think (I don't think they need warm coats in Hawaii but I don't think they need them in California either, so maybe Utah).

So last Monday, Josh took Hayley to Maui for a little surprise. Here they are at the airport.

This picture is blurry but Hayley once told Josh that if a guy asked her to marry her at this waterfall, that it was so beautiful, that she would have to say yes. So he asked her. And she said yes.

Here is a good picture of the engagement.

And here is a Hawaiian Road. Pretty sunset.

Great News

Katelynn has this obsession with putting things over her head with both hands. She sometimes gets in a mood and everything she can grab she puts behind her head. The mood is usually fleeting and loves the camera, so by the time we get the camera, she's done and just poses for the camera. We got lucky and had the camera on the table when she got in the mood. So enjoy. We thought we would be a little funny at our poor daughters expense.

So Jen got some good floor pictures of Katelynn. This is Jen's favorite.

I thought that this was Jen's favorite and so put it on. It isn't, and I left it on anyway.
Well here is the great news. While Katelynn was on her tummy, Jen put Katelynn's knees underneath her and Katelynn stayed.

And stayed long enough to get the camera and take two pictures. I honestly thought this was a least a few weeks away (at least till Jen goes to California again, since when Katelynn is in California she always seems to grow up three times as fast). So crawling may not be too far away. Maybe on the Cali trip?

Cute Sunday Outfit

When we came home from church today, we thought that Katelynn looked cute in her outfit. And as always it became a photo shoot with Katelynn as our beautiful model. This is a small sample of the photos we took.

1000 Visitors

Our blog has had 1000 visitors since we started in April 2006. We have no idea who this is but congrats whoever you are. We do know that is not a huge accomplishment but it's pretty cool.

Thanks Jen (and Mike)!

For Christmas, Jen Barnes made some cute letters for spelling Katelynn's name. But as we began to set it up, we realized that we spelled our poor daughters name with way too many letters. We considered changing her name just to Kate.

Jen then convinced me to put up this cabinet we have so we can have something to put up the many letters.

PS - We put Mike's name in the title because I am sure he contributed some how, in some remote way, to some part of the gift.

Welcome Home!!

During Christmas break it seemed that most people that came in contact with Nathan got sick. Katelynn had an awfully stuffy nose and was pretty miserable for a few days. But she got better and had a fun last few days in California. Well, she gave me a welcome home surprise and was sick once again for a few days. To pass time as we were sitting on the office floor I decided to take some pictures. Now I think my little girl knows what a camera is and is quite photogenic. Despite feeling no good, she managed to smile and look so cute for the camera. She quite enjoyed herself while the camera was focused on her.

Christmas at home

We have had a wonderful time this Christmas time visiting with family and friends! After driving all the way down from Cedar City we visited with Nathan's family and then went to my uncle's wedding reception. Despite Katelynn crying the whole 20 minute drive to the reception she actually calmed down and had a lot of fun with everyone there. We were so happy to make it to the reception to celebrate the wedding.

Ethan knows Katelynn likes to grab things so he holds out his finger for her to grab on to.

Nichole told me she had gotten Annalise this Christmas dress so I went to Children's Place so they could have cute matching dresses.

Ethan wanted in on the action.

What a cute family!

Here we are getting ready for Christmas Eve dinner.

We all joined in on the nativity this year. It was very fun to have the LaPortes there with us this Christmas. Annalise and Trenton were Mary and Joseph and Katelynn was baby Jesus.
Ethan wore his new robe to be a good looking shepard. (I can't really remember what everyone else was..)

After the celebrations on Christmas Eve we went over to sleep at the Wilbur's. Here is Katelynn with the fun toy Santa brought by for her!! She was so excited. She loved all the wrapping paper and fun toys!

We excitedly returned to my parent's for the big phone call!! Dan is doing great and it was so much fun to talk to him.

After talking to Dan and the LaPorte's talking with Wes we finally opened our Christmas presents around 3ish. This definitely the latest we have ever opened presents.

This is the family picture that we took at Nathan's extended family Christmas party.
