Katelynn has made her first animal sound. Yes an animal sound. You might try to guess what kind of animal sound she made. Dog? Cat? Cow? You would be wrong if you guessed a normal sounding animal, or a commonly made animal sound. I mean, come on, our child is not normal or common. Her first animal sound was an elephant.
Katelynn also has been learning body parts. She is having a hard time with eyes and ears.

24th Evening Festivities
I've decided the month of July is one reason I love Utah. We get to enjoy two days off work and school. Two days of parades and fun. And most importantly two night of fireworks! We were not going to make Katelynn miss her sleep to watch fireworks with just her boring mom and dad but because we had family in town we woke her up for a fun night on the 24th. Katelynn did great and had tons of fun.
She wanted to play with the Frisbee that everyone was playing with.

Here are cute Mike and Jen.

By this time Katelynn was getting a bit tired.

Katelynn enjoyed many Nilla Wafers during the evening.

Nathan had fun with the camera. Mike is in the middle jumping up and down. Dan and Mandi are framing the picture

Brotherly love.

I was very worried that Katelynn would be afraid of the fireworks- the noise, the dark, etc. Thankfully she was not afraid, but she had no interest in the fireworks. Right as the fireworks, started she got a great interest in running away towards the kids next to us. She had fun!

I think Mike's singing is what makes these videos so funny. Just listen to what he is saying.

24th Afternoon Festivities
Mike and Jen were in town for a few days over the 24th of July. We had lots of fun with them. My Aunt Teresa has started a tradition for the 24th of July. We all gather in American Fork Canyon to enjoy a dutch oven dinner, pioneer stories, and games. It is so much fun. On the drive over this year we watch the storm clouds rolling in. It rained while we eat dinner but stopped when we finished not long after dinner.
Dan came with us in the car to the festivities.

He is nice to put up with Katelynn all the time.

After dinner the boys enjoyed a game of bocce ball.

Here is Grandma Barnes and Rachel. This was after the rain stopped so were not all hiding under the trees.

Katelynn enjoyed dessert the most as you can see from the chocolate on her face. She also got very muddy and dirty. It was fun.

This is Mike's goofy face that I was lucky enough to get on camera.
