Happy 85th Grandma Goldthorpe

Jen's Grandma Goldthorpe recently turned 85 and Jen thought up this cute picture. We would each hold a number or "!" and send the picture to her Grandma. Well, with no one around, we put the camera on a timer on the kitchen counter. Here are the results of our adventure.






This is the one that was sent to her Grandma. Katelynn isn't holding the picture, but we thought that would be the best we could hope for that night.


I know a woman's age is a scary thing but I think that when you reach a certain point, you have to celebrate longevity. I think she is one special and awesome 85 year old.

Rose Parade

The day after the Rose Parade, we went to see the floats. If you have never done this, and are in California during the New Years season, I highly recommend going to see the floats in person. It is like $7, but it is worth seeing them once. I don't know if I would ever do it again. But you get such a different perspective on the floats. The place was packed and Katelynn became grumpy quickly. Jennifer Barnes, Jennifer Barnes' Mom, Mike, Nichole, Ethan, Annalise, Diane, and us all went.

This is the Anaheim float. It was very cool. I think it was my favorite. I took so many pictures and was stressed the rest time that I got only a few pictures of floats. I am not kidding when I say that there are tons of people. You have no idea how scary activities like this becomes when you have a kid. Not a baby. Babies are stationary. Kids move and can get lost in a flash. So here is the Anaheim float.





I caught that this was a Governors trophy winner, but I took the picture for the oranges. I LOVE oranges.


If only our freeways were like this.


The signs I thought were a cool touch. I don't know why the Honda Center is on there. I know the Ducks play there and all but who cares? They must have paid some bucks for the float.


After we got out of the whole mess with all our children in our possession, I regained my picture taking abilities and took a picture that depicts what it is really like. Scary/Crazy.
