Crazy Madness Catch-up

Okay, it has been a while, but for good reason. The rest of July was crazy busy. I finished up school and we moved to Orange County, California. So I had several projects to finish up at the end of the semester and then help Jen pack when I wasn't doing that. Somewhere in the middle of all that we got in things that we wanted to do before we left Logan. My parents and brother came and helped us so much.

The 31st I took a final, ran home, drove to Penske (who I highly recommend, along with Budget, Penske was cheeper for this move) picked up a truck, and made it just in time as some help from the ward arrived. Packed the truck, drove to Provo, spent the night there, woke up and drove a good portion of the day to California (I just kept the gas petal to the ground and it maintained 75 MPH comfortably almost the whole way.). The next Monday I then enlisted my two brothers to help unpack the things staying at the house, repacking the things for storage, and then at the storage unit unpacking it all. They helped a ton. Dan showed up toward the end too, when he was able, which was helpful. Then we settled in and unpacked at Jen's parent's home. That took a good portion of the rest of the week. So busy busy stuff, but it is done. I am excited to be done and to have my Masters now and to finally have moved closer to family. So here is a fast overview of the events that happened that I got pictures of.

We went down to Layton area to go to the reception of Jen's cousin Cody.

Dan took this picture and usurped that right away from me.

Kate is doing all sorts of things to her hair and playing with it. (In fact yesterday, Anna and Kate cut their own hair a little with safety scissors, not enough to notice though before I caught them.)

We went to eat at Red Robin with Dan and Casi. Ty was tired and as always cute.

Do they still look like a newly wed couple?

I think that Ty teething is making him stick his tongue out a lot.

Then Jen's roommate, Chani, from BYU came down to visit from Twin Falls, ID. We celebrated her birthday with her favorite colors purple and pink (At least those are her favorite colors according to Kate.)

We went to the same park that we went to for July 4th for the 24th with Chani. Ty is much braver that Kate with swings. Kate wouldn't even sit in a swing until her 2nd birthday.

The girls had fun reminiscing and catching up. It was sad that we are so far away now.

Kate posing with the moving boxes.

On moving day, Kate played with her friend, McKenzie's, one last time.

Here is Kate with the neighbor boys. They kept Katelynn entertained often. Casen, Treg, and Teague.

Them all with the boys' mom, Lyndie.

Kate wanted to do a silly face. That works.

Home at last. It was all pretty exhausting.

Josh and Hayley had their baby!

Josh announced last night about 11 pm that Hayley's water broke. They went to the hospital about 1:30. She delivered at 5:29am a beautiful 7 pound 6 ounce, 19 inch boy. Both mom and baby are doing fine. His Apgar was 9.9 (out of a possible 10). The timing was perfect. Alyssa and Ben were in town and leave early tomorrow morning to return to Utah and Jarrod and my dad will be gone all next week camping. They haven't got a name in stone yet but I think they said the first name will be Channing.

4th of July in Logan

For the Independence Weekend, we had a lot of fun. I felt like I had been off from two weeks of class instead of just one day. The 3rd we went to the fireworks show at the USU stadium. There is a hill just south of the stadium that overlooks the stadium and was a great spot. We really had no idea what we were doing beforehand, we just drove around and kind of followed everyone else a little. Tyler was tired by the time the fireworks went off after 10 but Kate seemed pretty awake.

There was a fly over of some bomber or cargo plane. Katelynn covered her ears but seemed to like it. When the fireworks started she was at first saying she wanted to go home. After a couple minutes of her saying over and over again that she wanted to go home she stopped and enjoyed the whole thing. She danced and made some pretty cute faces.

The drive home was crazy, I think most of the valley was there trying to get home all at once. Kate and Ty were asleep almost instantly when we got in the car. I think we tuckered them out.

On the 4th we got together with some friends that we had known in Provo that also live in Logan now for school, Delia and Jared, and went to a park. We grilled some hamburgers and had a great dinner. The Randell's brought some fireworks which the kids loved.

They picked which fireworks would be set off next. They loved being in charge of the festivities.

Kate did some cute poises.

Both jumped for joy at the fireworks.

It is great the enthusiasm that both kids had over the fireworks. I really was surprise with how excited they were over them. I knew they would think it was cool, but they couldn't get enough. They were definitely disappointed that the whole thing was over. We really enjoy being with the Randalls. They really are fun to hang out with, plus they somehow tolerate us.
