Thanksgiving Point animals

While I was at school, Kate, Jen, and my mom went to Thanksgiving Point and saw the animals.


Probably the most amazing thing is that Katelynn rode a horse by herself. I think she must be on some bravery kick. She wouldn't near a horse less than a year ago and now will ride one. Mind you the first time in my memory of touching a horse was on my mission and I was terrified it was going to bite my hand off. So my child has ridden a horse before I have. Hmmm. Bummer.

While Jen was waiting between rides, she got some really cute pictures of Tyler.








The sign on the fence says not to feed the horses your fingers. Kate kept stepping back and the horse was trying to get Jen here. 

Our Easter Weekend

I have a few other posts for the time in Provo but I thought I would post our Easter weekend first. Easter weekend was split in Provo and Logan. My parents were packing and getting ready to leave but we colored eggs with Kate. She really enjoyed the whole process. We had to take her shirt off so as not to destroy it and had nothing to replace it. I apologize to anyone this offends.

From the pictures we post you would think that Ty is in a constant state of shock. I think he really is just investigating the orange, red light that is shining on him before the flash goes off.


Then we traveled home to Logan. So the Easter Bunny thought that some balloons would be a great idea since we ate at Red Robin with my family the week before and Kate wanted a balloon from the Red Robin mascot person. (By the way she was terrified of the mascot and screamed at it, but still took the balloon.) Jen and I both thought that we might be awoken by screams of joy. Well Kate had restraint and just ran in our room to show us what the Easter Bunny left her and Ty. It was great to hear her little door open, Kate's little footsteps, and the balloons bouncing against the wall. I grabbed the camera before and caught her excitement before getting around to turning on the light.

Kate wanted the balloon attached to her new bows and put in her hair. Where do they come up with these things.

After church we did a little egg hunt of our own. Kate loved it, or maybe it was the candy. She opened each egg she found to see what candy was inside before finding a new one.

Tyler started doing this tensing-up thing when he gets excited. He started doing it on Easter while Jen was feeding him. Kate used to do this when she was angry or excited. We think it may have something to do with his teeth that are coming in. Perhaps. Who knows?

Spring Break, sort of

Jarrod had spring break and my parents came up with him for the week. I still had school so we came down to see them starting Conference weekend and I drove home to go to class the next week. I left Jen, Kate, and Ty there though and they had a blast (more to come on that). Here are the grandkids. Bella is scooting/army crawling and Ty just loves to not be mobile. While it is nice to see them progress, sometimes it is nice to have them just lay there.

The week before was my dad's birthday and Kate called him twice on his birthday and almost every day after until we saw them in Provo. She wanted to have a cake for him and sing him Happy Birthday. So my parents got a lime cheese cake while shopping for food the first day and here is Jar cutting the cake into pieces. I couldn't find the camera before the candles were blown out though. Bummer.



Ty is the calmest kid. He is rarely sad and when he is you know something must really be wrong. We thought that Kate was an easy kid and for the first few weeks with Ty we remembered how people cursed us to have a difficult second baby but after those first few weeks he really is a calm child. When he does cry I get frustrated so easily because it's like a 13 year old, you aren't used to it. 


On a side note, Katelynn was in the car with Jarrod while everyone was going somewhere. Jarrod is a great uncle but is the youngest and Kate is the oldest grandkid so Jar has little experience with little kids. Kate threw a shoe and Jar was a little harsh with her and told her that she would have hurt Tyler. Well Kate lately has been a little emotionally sensitive and cried and cried from the rebuke. Poor thing was devastated. I think that Jar was taught to be a little more sensitive. :)
